Take a little time to get comfortable with your kit.

You don’t need to know everything before browsing. You do deserve to understand what you’re choosing and how to care for it. These reminders cover different products, so follow the points relevant to yours.

• Choose with information: Before buying, read the product listing and explore our Safety Tool Guide. Ask us about anything you’re unsure of, including how a product operates and what its limitations are.
• Get familiar when it arrives: Read the supplied instructions before carrying or using your tool. Learn how any locks, switches, covers or activation mechanisms work.
• Keep its purpose in mind: Use defence tools only for lawful self-defence, and other safety products for their intended purpose. They should never be used for pranks, intimidation or retaliation.
• Give it a safe home: Store securely away from children and pets. Follow the storage guidance for your item and secure any protective covers or locks where fitted.
• Carrying a spray? Keep it cool, dry and away from sunlight, heat and flames. Take it with you when leaving your vehicle rather than storing it inside. Follow its labelled temperature limits and expiry instructions.
• Check in on your kit: Follow any charging, battery, testing and maintenance instructions. Inspect for damage and check expiry dates where applicable. Never test sprays, stun devices or blades on yourself, another person or an animal.
• Plan around its limitations: Check travel and venue restrictions. No tool can promise protection in every situation; reaching safety and accessing help remain priorities where possible.

We’re happy to help you understand your product. Please reach out if you need guidance.
